BLUEGRASS SLOW JAM: Almost every Thursday night, a group of bluegrass musicians play slow tunes and songs at Barberton Grange, 9400 NE 72nd Ave., Vancouver. COMMUNITY MARTIAL ARTS: First through 12th graders,  Pung Mul Kwan is an offshoot of an ancient Korean Martial Art. It combines linear and circular movements, joint locks, throws, falling techniques and grappling. Your child will learn this and discipline, patience and control. CHEER CONDITIONING & TUMBLING: Fitness and tumbling class, grades one through six, who are interested in Cheerleading. Classes will include core stability/strength training, plyometric drills, pilates and yoga to reduce injury, improve speed, stamina, strength and flexibility. Focus will be on motion drills/jump conditioning. An excellent opportunity for athletes to work with high school cheer coaches. WSU VANCOUVER MARQUEE Diversity Event with Rep. Mary Gonzalez will be Thu., Nov. 6, 7 p.m., at WSU Vancouver, 14204 NE Salmon Creek Ave., Vancouver. Gonzalez will give a keynote speech, “Identity, Culture and Social Justice: How Tortillas and Rainbows Taught me to Change the World.” As a member of the Latin and LGBTQ communities, she will share insights about her personal identities and what inspires her to be a leader and advocate for social justice.
