Volunteers to gather for Battle Ground Community Day of Service

Posted

Battle Ground is joining Clark County Connects' annual Day of Service this weekend. This is the second year of Battle Ground's participation in the annual county-wide effort.

Volunteers will be caring for public places by cleaning up litter, raking and weeding flower beds, and spreading bark chips.

While the hope is for cooperative weather, the work will carry on rain or shine. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather and for the work at hand. A limited supply of tools and equipment will be available, but participants are asked to bring their own work gloves, gardening tools and, if possible, wheelbarrows. The Parks & Recreation Department will provide refreshments.

Individuals, families and groups are welcome and encouraged to participate. A responsible adult must accompany minors and take care to manage younger children appropriately in a work environment. We ask that Scout groups, organizations or other groups of six or more register in advance. Individuals and families can register as they arrive.
