First Day Hike at Battle Ground Lake State Park

Posted

Bring in the new decade with a refreshing breath of fresh air on the new-this-year Battle Ground Lake State Park First Day Hike. The hike starts at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at the kitchen shelter in the park. The ranger-led hike will take trekkers through the forest and around the lake while learning about the park’s history and ecology. After the hike, participants can head to the kitchen shelter for donuts and coffee for a post-hike warm up.

It is recommended participants bring hiking shoes for muddy terrain as well as weather gear and snacks for the 2-mile hike. The moderate hike is recommended for all ages and is free to the public. New Year’s Day is also a State Parks Free Day so a Discover Pass is not required to park at the park.
