Two father/daughter dances planned in Woodland

Posted

Woodland’s 14th Annual Father/Daughter Ball will consist of two events at the end of the month. Both dances will be Saturday, Feb. 24, at Woodland High School, first from 3-5 p.m., then from 7-9 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale at Woodland Hi-School pharmacy for $5 per person. Tickets are only good for the time slot chosen and not interchangeable and must be purchased in advance.

A more formal "Evening in Paris" theme has been chosen as a backdrop for the ball. Last year was the first time that two events were hosted and it was a welcome idea by guests. It allowed more attendees in a less crowded atmosphere. This community-wide Father/Daughter Ball is a nonprofit community service event sponsored by Grace Community Church.

Dads, grandpas and uncles of all ages and their daughters are welcome to attend. The organizers are planning for 700 attendees for each event.

Upon entry there will be light finger foods and beverages provided and chances for free door prizes. Door prizes are donated by area businesses who will have their name mentioned by the DJ from the stage when they are drawn.

The only additional cost upon entry is a professional portrait if desired. Grace Community Church hosts this nonprofit event with many community groups such as Boy Scouts, Honor Society, etc,. coming together to help with set up and clean up.

The Father/Daughter Ball provides a safe, fun environment to provide lifelong memories. Plans this year include a giant lighted Eiffel Tower and many French-themed decorations. Even with a more formal atmosphere, organizers encourage fathers and daughters to come fancy or casual
