Annual Lewis River Ducks Unlimited banquet this week

The annual Lewis River Ducks Unlimited will host its annual banquet this weekend to raise funds toward the organization’s conservation goals.

The annual event is set for March 18 at the Ridgefield Community Center, 210 N Main Ave., Ridgefield. Starting at 5 p.m., the event will feature activities including raffles, live and silent auctions and games.

Ducks Unlimited is a nonprofit organization focused on conservation of waterfowl habitats, the release stated. Since the organization’s establishment in 1937, the group has conserved close to 14 million acres of habitat due to supporter contributions like those made at the banquet.

Those interested are asked to purchase tickets in advance as space is limited, the release stated. A one-year membership to Ducks Unlimited is included in the ticket price.

“This committee has worked tirelessly to make this event a huge success,” said Garrett Coussens, DU regional director, in the release. “Because of the outstanding local support, and help from the committee securing donations, this is sure to be a great year.”

To purchase tickets, contact Bruce Wiseman (360-887-4582) or John Repman (360-772-5858), the release stated.
