Military Appreciation Night at Ridgefield Raptors game

Catch a Raptors ballgame and show our veterans love with Military Appreciation Night at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex on July 5. Gates open at 6 p.m. with special discount priced tickets for veterans. The event is hosted by American Legion Post 44.

Hot summer nights and movies in the park

Catch a movie and family fun July 5 at Horseshoe Lake with the City of Woodland’s military-themed round of  “Hot Summer Nights and Movies in the Park.” 



The fun begins at 6 p.m. with live bands, a farmers market, and military vehicle display. The movie of the night is Disney’s “Valiant” and begins at dusk. Admission is free with parking and dinner provided for a cost. This is a weekly event all throughout the summer. 

Welcome new citizens at naturalization ceremony

The United State Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in partner with the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will welcome new United States citizens during a naturalization ceremony at noon on July 3 at the Pearson Air Museum, 1115 E 5th St., Vancouver. USCIS officals asks that attendees arrive no later than 11:45 a.m. Forty new citizens representing many different countries from around the globe will be sworn in by the director of the USCIS Portland Field Office Richard Miller. The USCIS invites new citizens, their families, friends and the public to share in the long tradition of welcoming our new citizens.
