BATTLE GROUND AND PRAIRIE High schools Class of 1980 reunion will be Sat., Aug. 8, 5:30-10:30 p.m., at Club Green Meadows, 7703 NE 72nd Ave., Vancouver. Cost is $40 per person. AMBOY, YACOLT and Chelatchie Schools Reunion and Old Timers’ Picnic will be Fri., July 31, 10 a.m. to start gathering, lunch at 12:30 p.m., at Amboy Community Park. Bring a potluck dish of your choice. Disposable plates, cups, forks and coffee will be furnished. Bring old school pictures to share. Plan on visiting the North Clark Historical Museum while you’re here. It is suggested that each person attending the picnic plan to make a small donation to help cover costs for mailing, coffee, utensils and other items. WOODLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS announces the sponsorship of the Simplified Summer Food Program for children. Meals will be made available at no charge to attending children under 18 years of age. FVRL FOUNDATION USED BOOK SALE, BookFest ‘15, will be Fri.-Sat., June 26-27, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., in Library Hall at the FVRL District Headquarters, 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver. There will be more than 15,000 books for sale. Great selection and and prices. Books will be $1 for trade paperbacks and hardbacks and 50 cents for mass market paperbacks. Books will be added continually throughout the sale. Proceeds from this book sale will be used to support Fort Vancouver Regional Library District’s Summer Reading Program. Education

JAM & BREAD CLASS for Kids will be Thu., June 25, noon-2 p.m., at the WSU Clark County Extension/Heritage Farm, 1919 NE 78th St., Vancouver. In this class designed just for kids each student will make their own small batch of delicious berry freezer jam from local berries and a loaf of bread from scratch to take home and bake. It’s a great class for kids that gets them into the kitchen and interested in helping out. Recipes are included so they can enjoy doing this year round activity at home. Pre-registration required. WSU GARDENING CAMP for Youth will be Aug. 3-7, 9 a.m.-noon for grades 1-3 and 1-4 p.m. for grades 3-5, in the Floral Building located at the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds in Longview. The week-long camp provides a hands-on experience for youth to explore the world of bugs plants, and weather. Cost of the class is $25 and is limited to 25 children. PET SAVER TRAINING, Pet CPR, First Aid & Care class, will be Sat., June 27, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at Unsinkable Dogs in Ridgefield. Cost is $125. For pet owners and pet care professionals. MAD SCIENCE SUMMER CAMP: Rockets & The Science of Flight, ages 5-8. The most popular camp, younger campers have a blast learning the hows and whys of aerodynamics by studying all things that fly. GALLERY 360 INVITES artists to enter their unjuried August show, Art of the Heart. Flat entry fee of $20, you may enter one piece of 2D or 3D art representing something near and dear to you. SKYHAWKS MINI-HAWK CAMP: An introductory program for young children, 4-6 years old, Mini-Hawk helps children explore soccer, baseball and basketball in a day-program setting. Hip Hop/Jazz Dance Basics ages 6-10 is from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., at BGHS, cost is $60. Come get into the groove. Dancers will learn mostly hip hop and some jazz steps to fun and upbeat music. Come learn to leap, turn and shine. This class is not only fun but will improve posture, strength and flexibility in a positive and self-esteem building atmosphere.
