Community invited to National POW/MIA Recognition Day event

The Community Military Appreciation Committee (CMAC), a civic nonprofit organization, invites the community to a National POW/MIA Recognition Day Observance on Sat., Sept. 19 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC) at 15005 NE 65th St, Vancouver.

The reception begins at 9:45 a.m., with a program starting at 11 a.m.

The purpose of the event is to honor and remember those who were prisoners of war (POW) and those who are missing in action (MIA), and their families.

All CMAC events are privately funded. CMAC is an all-inclusive group composed of members representing youth, education, civic, military, veterans groups, and local governments. CMAC executes and plans community-wide events, such as the Memorial Day, Veterans Day, High School Salute, and POW/MIA Day ceremonies and recognition/support of military families of all services.
