Nominate a Clark County youth for their good deed

Posted

The Clark County Youth Commission announced its 19th annual countywide celebration to recognize youth achievements last week.

Up to 300 young people will be honored for their accomplishments in one of the 13 categories.

The Youth Achievement Awards are intended for youth in Clark County who’ve demonstrated personal growth and community contribution.

“Family and friends can celebrate the good work young people contribute every day in their personal development and service to others,” according to a statement from the Clark County Youth Commission.

“Recognition is a powerful way to help young people feel valued and connected to their community,” according to the press release. “Positive youth development research demonstrates that having opportunities for positive involvement in the community, and being recognized for that involvement helps young people be healthy, happy, and successful. So what are you waiting for? Celebrate a young person you know today.”

A county wide recognition and celebration night will be held on June 10. Winners will receive three tickets to attend the event.

Eligibility

Any Clark County resident ages 11-19.

The achievement they are being nominated for must have been done after April 1, 2016.

Although a youth can be nominated for multiple categories, if selected they can only win one award.
