Ridgefield Compassion Clinic a day of free services

Posted

The annual Ridgefield Compassion Clinic will be held at View Ridge Middle School in downtown Ridgefield from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27.

It will be six straight hours of free dental care, medical care, social services, clothing, haircuts, food and children's activities.

“Usually people who come out are pretty excited,” said co-coordinator Allison Meade.

Those who provide the free services are professionals and specialists in their fields of medical, dental, hairstyling and all sorts of skills. On this day, however, they are volunteers offering their services free of charge.

The medical services options are vision and glasses, chiropractic, physical therapy and massage. With the beginning of school on the horizon such things as sports physicals and vaccines will be offered. Meade said this year the clinic will have all of the needed back-to-school shots.

The range of options is wide, as even free family photography is available.

The whole effort is a collaborative one helped sponsored by six local churches: Christ Community Church, Messiah Lutheran North Campus, Mt. View Christian Center, Pleasant View Nazarene Church and Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene.

Since its inception, the event has only grown. An estimated several hundred are expected to show and make the most of the golden opportunity.

Anyone who wants to help can consider donating items for the future the day of, or volunteer. Contacting to do so can be done at compassionridgefield.org or by calling Sarah Stuart at 360-901-6439.
