Roberts Alden
PeaceHealth recently announced the appointment of Alden Roberts, MD, chief medical officer of the PeaceHealth Columbia Network, and vice president of Quality at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, to the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission.
The state Medical Quality Assurance Commission is charged with promoting patient safety and enhancing the integrity of the medical profession in Washington. The 21-member commission is focused on statewide issues including, rule-making, licensure legislation, exploring requirements to ensure continuing competency, and increasing educational outreach to the medical profession and public.
“We congratulate Dr. Roberts on this accomplishment and recognition by his peers and Washington State Governor Jay Inslee,” says Joanne Olsen, chief administrative officer for PeaceHealth Southwest and chief nursing officer for the PeaceHealth Columbia Network. “We’re proud to have such an esteemed member of the medical profession within PeaceHealth.”
Roberts’ term began on March 2, 2015, and runs through June 30, 2018. In addition to his role as chief medical officer of the PeaceHealth Columbia Network, Roberts is also PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center’s vice president of Quality.
He currently serves on the Emergency Medical Services Administrative Board and Public Health Advisory Council in Vancouver. Roberts is a member of the American College of Surgeon Professional Association. He received the Distinguished Physician Award in 2005, and the Southwest Washington Medical Center Circle of Excellence Award in 2009.
The PeaceHealth Columbia Network represents the Southwest Washington region of PeaceHealth, a not-for-profit health care system with community-based medical centers and health care providers in Washington, Alaska and Oregon.
