The Clark County Board of Health recently appointed four community members to serve three-year terms on the volunteer Public Health Advisory Council.
Sandra Mathewson, who has been a board member for 10 years, was reappointed to her seat representing the educational community. A Vancouver resident, Mathewson is director of prevention and youth services at Education Services District 112.
New appointees are:
Tracy Rude of Vancouver, who represents consumers. She is a licensed practical nurse who works at the Clark County Skills Center teaching applied medical services and nursing assistant classes. In October 2013, Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Rude to a four-year term on the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.
Dr. Remy Eussen, a pediatric dentist practicing in Vancouver. He is a member of the Washington Dental Service Foundation board and PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation board. His seat is reserved for a dentist.
Bryce Hackett, a senior at Columbia River High School and Honor Society member. He serves on the Clark County Youth Commission and fills a seat for youth on the advisory council.
Terms will begin Oct.1 and end Sept. 30, 2017.
The council is a link between the community, Board of Health and Clark County Public Health. It provides advice on public health policies, decision making and practices.
