YMCA to hold Healthy Kids Day

On Sat., April 26, the Clark County Family YMCA will hold a free community event to celebrate the completion of an $8,000,000 renovation and inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active.    

The celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. with a Grand Re-Opening Dedication of the facility followed at 9:45 a.m. with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and YMCA Healthy Kids Day activities running from 10:00 a.m.-1 p.m.

Through generous local support and a strong commitment from the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette, the newly renovated Clark County Family YMCA, Vancouver’s only full-facility YMCA now offers:

• Two pools – an 88 degree, zero-depth-entry REC pool with Jacuzzi jets and a waterfall and a new six-lane lap pool

• Two gymnasiums – with three full basketball courts and volleyball

• Four Group Exercise studios – one dedicated to Quiet Exercise forms such as Yoga

• Five locker rooms – men, women, boys, girls, and family



• Community Meeting and Conference Rooms

• Youth Center for ‘Tweens and Teens and huge ChildWatch Center

• Massage Studio

• Indoor Track

YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day is a national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being, features games, healthy living demonstrations, arts and crafts and more to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home. Healthy Kids Day aims to get more kids moving and learning, so they can keep up the habit all summer long – a critical out-of-school time for kids’ health.
