Master Gardeners to talk tools

Posted

Clark County’s Master Gardeners will offer a workshop Sept. 22 for those looking to make sure they’re using the right tool for the job.

The Master Gardeners are putting on a “Tool Talk” aimed at saving time, effort and money in gardening by knowing what to use, when and where.

“Tool Guy” Master Gardener Jack Berhardsen will speak at the 90-minute workshop, answering important questions like “what’s the difference between a spade and a shovel” and “why should I care?”

Other points of discussion will include how to cut down workloads, preventing the spread of disease and how to care for gardening tools.

The event runs 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pacific Park Natural Demonstration area at the corner of Northeast 18th Street and Northeast 172nd Avenue in Vancouver. Admission is 45 minutes of service at the demo garden after the class. Bring a lawn chair and work clothes.
