Superheroes of the garden

On March 26 WSU Master Gardener Anne Wolff will be discussing the different beneficial insects, pollinators, and decomposers that can be housed in a garden. This free class will also teach what plants attract beneficial insects to your yard.

Foraging for wild edibles

On March 30, master gardener and edible forager Eve Hanlin will be teaching a free, two-hour workshop on what wild plants are edible in our area. Hanlin will be demonstrating safe harvesting techniques, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear for foraging outside.

Growing Dahlias



On April 2, master gardener Eve Hanlin will be hosting a presentation on Dahlias. Hanlin will discuss cover bloom types and varieties, soil preparation, planting, summer pruning, the basics of tuber dividing and winter care. Learn to grow dahlias as large as a dinner plate, or as small as a golf ball, they come in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes.

Making a kokedama string garden

On April 11, WSU master gardener Trisha Bonipace will demonstrate how to create kokedama string gardens. Kokedama is the Japanese art form of growing plants in a moss-covered ball, held together with twine. The class covers equipment, supplies, and coaching participants will take home their kokedama string garden once the class is over.
