WSU acreage classes focus on land stewardship

The Washington State University extension’s Small Acreage Program will be holding four classes/tours this summer through July and August.

Registration for all classes is currently open and stays open until each class date. The Small Acreage Program is co-sponsored by WSU Clark County Extension and Clark County Public Works Clean Water Program.

The workshops and tours will focus on small acreage landowners tips and tools to help farmers effectively steward their land.

Two farm tours in July will showcase properties that follow best management practices and have been recognized by WSU Clark County Extension for their clean water efforts.

“Farm tours allow landowners to share ideas and learn from others’ successes and mistakes,” said Director Doug Stienbarger.

Two workshops will be held in July and August teaching soil health and gardening with native plants.

“These workshops and tours provide a great way for landowners to learn from peers and local experts on managing their land in effective and sustainable ways,” said Small Acreage program coordinator Amber Lefstead.
