Esther Short Park Spring Planting Day

Posted

The Parks Foundation, in partnership with Vancouver Parks and Recreation, is recruiting volunteers to help plant the large planters and flowerbeds in and around the Propstra Square of Esther Short Park.

The planting will be held on Sat., May 17, from 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. No green thumb or experience is necessary, only the desire to give back and add beauty to the park.

Volunteers must pre-register as space is limited and will be filled on a first-come basis. Contact Hailey Heath at hailey.heath@cityofvancouver.us or (360) 487-8316 to sign up. Those interested may also register online at http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/aL63b8Fn0ei3.

Event sponsor, Vancouver Hilton, will provide refreshments for volunteers immediately following the planting.

The flowers and plants for the planting day are funded through the sale of Propstra Square Memorial Bricks. To help support future plantings, please consider purchasing a Memorial Brick in Propstra Square. Purchase information is available online at www.parksfoundation.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/PropstraBrickSaleFlyer.pdf.
