Spring is here and it’s time once again for the VanRidge Garden Club’s Annual Plant Sale. The sale will be held Fri.-Sat., May 9-10, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Pleasant View Church of the Nazarene, 801 NE 194th St., Ridgefield.

Included in the sale will be tomatoes, all kinds of spring veggies, annual and perennial flowers, bushes and some surprises in the tree department.

Among projects to benefit the community, the VanRidge Garden Club provides an annual scholarship for a Southwest Washington resident student. The current available scholarship is for a Southwest Washington student attending any campus of Washington State University majoring in organic gardening, agriculture, ecology or any related field such as soil science and sustainable animal husbandry.

Other projects supported by the VanRidge Garden Club include Share House and a program teaching at-risk children to garden. These projects and others, as well as the scholarship, are funded by the plant sale.
