BG Parks Appreciation Day will be Sat., April 26

The second annual Battle Ground Parks Appreciation Day work party will take place Sat., April 26, 9 a.m.-noon.

Individuals, families and groups are invited to participate in a day all about showing the parks how much you care. Volunteers are invited to join the work party at any of these five Battle Ground park locations: Central Park, 414 E. Main St.; Kiwanis Park, 422 SW 2nd Ave.; Florence Robison-South, 1901 NW 9th St.; McConnell Park, 918 NW 25th Ave.; Triangle Park, 1012 NW 25th Ave.

Anyone can participate, an adult must accompany any minors. No minors under the age of 6 should attend. There is no need to pre-register unless you have a scout troop or group of eight or more.



Participants should dress for the outdoor weather, this is a rain or shine event. Volunteers should bring work gloves and small gardening tools if they have some available (label all tools prior to bringing them). A limited supply of tools and equipment is available for use.

Work party tasks may include picking up litter, raking/weeding flower beds, cleaning playground equipment and spreading bark chips. Refreshments will be provided. This event is sponsored by the Battle Ground Parks & Recreation Department.
