CHARLIE, an 8-year-old Boxer mix, is one of the many dogs available for adoption at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.
The Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW) continues to receive large numbers and varieties of dogs and puppies this summer. As a result, all dogs and puppies are currently available to adopt from the shelter for 20 percent off through HSSW’s Summer Lovin’ special.
During the summer months, HSSW sees an increase in the number of dogs that are taken in or owner surrendered. Cats and kittens remain at an all-time high during summer months, with half off adoption fee specials for cats and kittens on Tuesdays. Adoption discounts provide an opportunity to connect prospective owners with pets at even further reduced pet adoption fees.
All pet adoptions include spay or neuter surgery; microchip ID system and national registration; vaccinations; free veterinary exam with an area participating veterinarian; animal training information and low-cost pet insurance options.
Animals are available for adoption during shelter hours, Tue.-Sun., noon-6 p.m., at the shelter located at 1100 NE 192nd Ave., Vancouver.
