NW Love All Animal Rescue in need of donations, sponsors

Ever since she was a little girl, Battle Ground resident Tracy Nichols has always found herself owning animals or bringing animals home.

Over the years, Nichols was very involved with all kinds of animals through 4-H and spent her teenage years working with animals as a volunteer at various animal rescues and other jobs involving them.

Nichols said she learned so much through these jobs and volunteer opportunities that her experience led her to become an “animal rescuer,” which has become her priority and passion. All of this and other experiences working with animals eventually led Nichols to start NW Love All Animal Rescue, Inc. in June 2010.

NW Love All Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, 501(c)3, no-kill rescue. The organization is not government funded and Nichols said they solely rely on the community for donations. The rescue is also completely run by volunteers with no paid employees.

For many years, Nichols, 45, owned Love Your Pet, Inc., which was a grooming, boarding, daycare and pet store. She also helped other rescues with the fostering and rescuing of pets. After her husband passed away, Nichols decided she and her son, Gage, needed a change, so she closed Love Your Pet, Inc. and they moved to Battle Ground and opened NW Love All Animal Rescue. Not wanting to give up her faithful clients that she’d had for many years, Nichols also opened a grooming shop in Vancouver called TJ’s Pet Grooming, Inc.

“My hopes for the near future is to have an all-animal boarding and grooming facility again, providing jobs for the community and professional pet services, along with an outstanding animal rescue,” Nichols said.

Nichols said her goal for NW Love All Animal Rescue was to rescue and provide sanctuary to all domestic types of animals in need. The rescue also provides temporary shelter for abandoned, abused and orphaned animals. The rescue houses many different types of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, horses, goats, llamas and a few others.

If the rescued animals are able to be adopted out, Nichols will place them into loving homes through the rescue’s adoption program. For the adoption program, the rescue is open to the public by appointment only.

NW Love All Animal Rescue is always in need of donations in order to keep the facility running. Monetary donations can be made by going to the rescue’s website, www.nwloveallanimalrescue.com. Those donating can also designate what they would like their donation to go toward (medical fund, senior citizen pet deposit, shelter operations, general fund, etc.).

“We also welcome pet sponsors,” Nichols said. “We also always looking for volunteers of many skills and foster homes. Our facility currently houses many animals on 10 acres here in Venersborg in Battle Ground.”

Nichols said they are currently in need of donations, monthly pet sponsors, animal feed of all types (hay is always a big help), a tractor, lumber, fencing, chain link kennels, pet carriers, copy paper, printer ink, paper towels, laundry soap and bleach, as well as a few other items.

The rescue also currently has a thrift store, NW Love All Animal Rescue Thrift Store, located at 6008 NE 109th Ave., Vancouver. All proceeds from the store go to help run the rescue. The store is also run by volunteers, and donations are always welcome.

NW Love All Animal Rescue is located at 21903 NE 227th Ave., Battle Ground, but anyone wishing to visit the rescue must first make an appointment by calling (360) 901-7034. Appointments are required.
