ReTails Thrift Stores, operated by the Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW) in Vancouver, will open the doors of its new thrift superstore this Tue., Sept. 2, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

The “official” grand opening celebration will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Fri., Sept. 5, featuring the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt and HSSW President Stacey Graham. Once inside, shoppers will receive a fun shopping bag (while supplies last) and shopping discounts. All shoppers will receive a 20 percent discount on an item of their choice Fri.-Sun., Sept. 5-7.

ReTails is consolidating two stores into one large, customer-focused building at 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver. The move will allow ReTails to expand operations; accept a wider range of donated household items to sell; add a coffee bar, boutique and the same great prices; and provide an enhanced retail-thrift experience.

Every Saturday in September, ReTails will host an in-store demo at the new location. Demos will include:

• Candelabra Makeover, Sept. 6, 2 p.m.

• Coasters from New York Magazines, Sept. 13, 2 p.m.

• Repurposing Thrift Store Finds, Sept. 20, 3 p.m.

• Furniture Makeover, Sept. 27, 2 p.m.

Proceeds from ReTails Thrift Stores support the work of HSSW’s mission of pet adoptions, proper medical care for the community’s animals and other companion animal programs.
