Columbia River Veterinary Specialists (CRVS) recently opened a new location on Jan. 24 at 6607 NE 84th St., Vancouver.

The new 15,000-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art equipment and treatments, including MRI, CT, X-ray and a full in-house laboratory. The new 69 parking spaces, nine exam rooms, large conference room and waiting room with a fireplace aim to set clients and patients at ease.

For more than 25 years, CRVS has served the Southwest Washington and greater Portland community, providing quality, compassionate pet care for the furriest of family members. They pride themselves on detailed, collaborative care and are the only privately-owned specialty hospital in Southwest Washington that offers 24-hour emergency services alongside boarded veterinary specialists. Specialists at CRVS practice internal medicine, ophthalmology, oncology, critical care, surgery, dentistry, neurology and cardiology.

The original clinic first began as Andresen Animal Hospital in 1988 and became Emergency Veterinary Services (EVS) in the early 1990s. EVS was purchased in 2007 and it was at this time that the name changed to the current-day Columbia River Veterinary Specialists. CRVS started out with 18 employees and has grown to 70 “professional, compassionate and talented” employees today. Their sister hospital, Animal Medical Center of Seattle, was opened in 2009 and currently has 45 employees of equal professional caliber.
