Yacolt hosts annual town cleanup

Yacolt residents will have the opportunity to load up their vehicles and declutter their homes at the annual town cleanup.

The event will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 27, at the railroad parking lot at Yacolt Road and Railroad Avenue. Trash will be accepted until the dumpsters are filled. Last year, the dumpsters were filled by 2 p.m., according to a city news release.

Dump fees will be charged per vehicle at the event. Cars, small trucks and trailers will cost $25. Trucks with a trailer will cost $45. Those from outside town limits will incur an additional $5 fee.



Vouchers for the event will be available at Yacolt Town Hall until the start of the event. Vouchers will be sold at the Town Hall parking lot at 9 a.m. on the day of the event. No credit cards will be accepted on event day.

This year, the event will accept rimless tires, woody debris, scrap metal, old yard furniture, old toys and more. Old appliances containing freon, hazardous materials, old electronics and food waste will not be accepted.

People bringing items will need to unload their vehicle.
